Rispoli relishes ‘diagonal step’ for 2017

James Rispoli has called his 2017 plans a 'diagonal step' towards greater things the year after having signed a two-year contract with the new-look Quattro Plant FS-3 Racing Kawasaki squad.

The American rider will switch to the National Superstock 1000 championship with FS-3 Racing in 2017, which has picked up the title sponsorship of Quattro Plant, and is expected to make a handful of wildcard appearances for the team back in BSB where he spent this season with Anvil Hire Yamaha.

The second year of his contract should see the 25-year-old return to BSB for a full campaign in 2018 with FS-3 Racing and he is relishing the prospect of a fresh challenge.

“I think 2017 is going to be a huge year for us; we have a two-year deal to be in Superstock next season with a mix of Superbike at the end of the year with Kawasaki,” Rispoli said. “I'm really excited as working with Nigel [Snook, team owner] and the team is everything I could wish for. I see next year as a diagonal step, it is the best option for me and puts me in a great position for 2018.

“We are all very excited to get the new season underway; FS-3 is a great, professional team who want to make the next step forward and support each other all the way. I think I can grow with this team and manufacturer – it is huge for me. Our goal is to win the Superstock title and bring it home for Kawasaki.”
