Honda Racing team manager Havier Beltran says re-signing Dan Linfoot and Jason O'Halloran is fair reward for their efforts over the past two campaigns on the older Fireblade ahead of the 2017 MCE British Superbike championship.
Honda has opted to stick with Linfoot and O'Halloran as a pairing for a third consecutive season in BSB but wishes a fond farewell to Jenny Tinmouth after two years.
The team is preparing to take receipt of the all-new Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP2 and is preparing an extensive pre-season testing programme for 2017.
Beltran is thrilled to retain Linfoot and O'Halloran after their combined efforts since joining the team in its current configuration in 2015, having seen Linfoot reach the BSB Showdown in both seasons while O'Halloran also reached the top six this year plus taking a maiden BSB race win.
“To have both Dan and Jason with us again next year is great news and it shows they have faith in the team and also in Honda,” Beltran said. “They have worked so hard to develop the 'old' Fireblade and have shown they can be competitive, and it's great to reward them with the all-new CBR for the new season.
“The new year marks Jason's tenth year with Honda and seven with Honda UK, which is a huge milestone for both us and Jason and I don't think any other manufacturer in the series can boast those credentials. He also took his maiden win this season - I'm sure there'll be more to come and I'm looking forward to sharing more podiums and wins with him next year.
“With Dan his potential has shone this year and he has been so close to securing his first win, I know he'll be one to watch next year and a serious title contender. We are all now looking forward to starting our testing schedule and kicking off 2017."
Beltran has also paid tribute to Tinmouth for her efforts over the past two years and is convinced she will return to the BSB grid.
“With Jenny, she's been fantastic to work with and her drive and determination is something else, she never gives up. She had a great year this year beating her personal bests and improving at each round, we'd like to wish her all the best and I'm sure we'll be seeing her again soon.”
