Stuart Easton has set his sights on Cadwell Park after being forced to withdraw from his comeback Bennetts British Superbike event at Knockhill.

Easton was back in action at the Scottish circuit very briefly having missed the last three rounds due to a wrist injury sustained in a crash at Snetterton, but he could only complete ten laps before he was forced to concede defeat.

Succumbing to the wrist's weakness rather than the pain, Easton was frustrated to be missing a fourth round in a row, but is confident he will be fully fit for the next event at Cadwell Park.

"I did ten laps this morning but I just couldn't do any more," he told the official British Superbike website. "I have been working hard all week to try and get the strength and movement back with my physio. I can put up with a bit of pain but it is still weak and there was just not enough strength in it today to the point where it was unsafe to carry on. It was best to call it a day and then come back stronger at Cadwell Park.

"I want to do a good job when I am out there and that wouldn't have been the case if I had carried on and there is no point riding around at the back. It was always optimistic to come back here, but I wanted to as it is my home round. There are plenty of races left to go so I am just going to think about them now."

Nonetheless, MSS Discovery Kawasaki will still field two bikes this weekend with their Superstock rider, Steve Mercer, stepping into the breach. Although an uphill struggle for him this weekend, Easton is confident Mercer can be an admirable deputy for him.

"I am now going to focus on Cadwell Park and the rest of the weekend I am going to help Steve Mercer who will now be riding my bike this weekend. It is a big ask for him to come in mid-season and get on my bike and ride and he will need to find the settings that will suit him. He made improvements in the sessions today and if he continues like that then he should get a good result."
