Ian Lowry has taken his second Fuchs Silkolene British Supersport win of the season as he slowly moves into title contention with Glen Richards and Hudson Kennaugh.

The Relentless by TAS rider battled his way to the front on lap six after out-braking Richards coming into the hairpin, the Suzuki rider simply pulling away before the race was stopped shortly before the scheduled finish.

It was Richards who got the best start, the championship leader catapulting himself up to third from seventh on the grid before snatching the lead of the race by the time the first lap was over.

However, it was clear the MAP Triumph rider didn't have the pace to stay out front and was quickly being harassed by Lowry before eventually losing the lead on the sixth revolution.

James Westmorland also found his way past Richards before the end of the race to score a strong second place finish with Centurion Racing, with Richards in third. Nonetheless, with Kennaugh crossing the line fifth, he still extends his championship lead to 30 points, with Lowry another seven points back.

James Webb claimed a fourth place finish, ahead of Kennaugh in fifth and Jack Kennedy, the surprise pole sitter holding on for a still impressive sixth place finish.

The race was stopped early after rain began to fall.
