Shane Byrne maintained his 100 per cent record of qualifying on the front row of the Bennetts British Superbike grid after claiming third place at Cadwell Park.
Although the Airwaves Ducati rider has failed to top one single session this weekend so far, Byrne has never been lower than the top three and showed as much in qualifying with a lap time of 1min 27.870secs.
Four tenths off pole man Tom Sykes, Byrne was pleased to dip below 1min 28secs for the first time, while he also waxed lyrical about the GSE Racing team for giving him the confidence to be able to push.
“I'm really happy to be on the front row for Airwaves Ducati and to get under 1 minute 28 for the first time this weekend. I owe it to everyone in the Airwaves Ducati team who have worked so hard.
“I could go full gas on the limit the whole time and that's why I'm here and why I love my job! I'm feeling confident about tomorrow as we know we have a good race pace, but how well we do will be down to how fast the rest of the field can go and for how long.”
