Rutter confident after double top six.

Michael Rutter has strengthened his position in the Bennetts British Superbike standings as the leading satellite rider after a pair of strong top six finishes at Cadwell Park.

Coming to the Lincolnshire circuit after recording his best combined result of the season at Knockhill, although his weekend was not quite as prosperous, fifth and sixth places keep him on the fringes of the factory-based teams.

The result was particularly satisfying for Rutter as he is one of the few riders in the paddock to consider Cadwell Park as one of his least favourites.

"I'm pleased with the way today went as Cadwell is not one of my favourite tracks and I'm glad to be moving on from here and going away with two good points scoring positions. It's a tricky circuit to master and I was struggling on the Mountain section and losing a lot of time on other riders around there.”

Attention turns to the remainder of the season though as Rutter stays in the hunt for fifth in the standings against Leon Camier, although the absence of James Ellison at Cadwell has seen him slip behind a little now.

“I've moved up a place in the Championship so hopefully I'll be able to continue to improve at the remaining three rounds of the year."

I have always rated Mr Rutter as he is very consistant. But he always seems to be on a second tier team of bike with a few noteable exceptions many years ago. To me he feels that given the right bike / team and bit of luck he could win BSB.
