Leon Camier has described his third Bennetts British Superbike win of the season as 'awesome' after coming through from seventh place on the grid at Silverstone.

A big boost for the Airwaves Ducati rider, who was disappointed with his bike after qualifying, Camier may have benefited from several incidents going on up ahead, but he was still able to catch and pass leader Cal Crutchlow.

Adding to his wins at Snetterton and also last time out at Croft, Camier was delighted with his performance, not least because it places him just six points behind Cal Crutchlow in the battle for fourth in the standings.

"It was an awesome race," he told Crash.net. "We had been struggling a little on overall lap times but in the race, it was a different thing altogether. We were putting in some really good laps towards the end, so it was a great result and I am really made up with it."

Finishing fourth in the secondrace, Camier also paid tribute to team-mate Shane Byrne who, in the same race, wrapped up the 2008 British Superbike Championship.

"Well done to Shakey. He deserved to win the championship!"
