Ellison aiming for victory.

This weekend's Brands Hatch Bennetts British Superbike season finale will provide the last opportunity for James Ellison to score a 2008 victory for the Hydrex Bike Animal Honda team.

Ellison has taken three podiums so far this season - two seconds and a third – and heads for the Indy circuit seventh in the standings, 34 points down on the experienced Michael Rutter.

"I'm really looking forward to Brands Hatch to try to get around the problems we had at Silverstone," said James. "It's a bit of a short circuit and not much you can do there with settings so I reckon we'll be competitive. I'll just keep trying for this elusive win, I have two chances left and I'd like to get that top step of the podium for all the team, to pay them back for all their hard work."

Team-mate Guy Martin will be looking to rid himself of the bad luck that has plagued his 2008 campaign - and add to his one and only top ten placing so far - although he's planning to party whatever happens.

"It doesn't seem five minutes ago that the season was just starting, full of high expectations, but it's just not happened for me this year," reflected Martin. "I'm looking forward to getting some better results at Brands Hatch as we really need a tonic to carry us into the winter months. But come Sunday evening, it will be a case of 'win or lose, we'll have some booze'."

Martin will move to Rob Mac Racing for 2009, while Ellison's plans are still to be announced.

I wont even argue with the lame conment posted by yamapimp, Ellison is the only non factory rider to hang with the factory riders this year He has done some great racing this year, looking forward to seeing him on a factory ride next year who ever it might be Im sure he will do well. I dont think he has had time to win Egg and spoon races as he has been too busy getting rides that he hasnt had to pay for the last few years .. Hydrex have never been so successful this year. They certainly werent getting Podiums prior to this season. He was on a Privateer machine in AMA 07and did a lot better than this years rider did . In Moto GP he was racing in a test situation on Dunlop Test tyres. for both 2005 and 2006. Prior to that he won a Championship every year. for five years For No Wages and broke./ Nice to see Hydrex giving him a real Chance on Home soil which he hasnt raced on for many years. when he was last here he won the Privateer cup by 100's of points :p
