The calendar for the 2009 Bennetts British Superbike Championship has been announced with a handful of revisions, including a mid-summer race at Brands Hatch that will occupy the slot vacated by the World Superbike Championship.

With the 2009 BSB grid continuing to fill up, next year's calendar will have a similar appearance to this season's schedule, with 24 races held over 12 rounds and at ten circuits.

The most notable change is the season finale, which will be held at Oulton Park rather than end in its traditional Brands Hatch slot.

The reason for this is Brands Hatch, which will also host the season opener once again, will make a second appearance on calendar in August as a replacement for the World Superbikes, which recently confirmed wouldn't be returning to the Kent venue.

As previously stated by MotorSport Vision's Jonathan Palmer, it is anticipated that the weekend will act a focal point for the season, with 'major on and off-track content and entertainment' planned. Full details of this event, which will be run on the Grand Prix layout, will be announced in due course.

The season will begin on Friday 10th April 2009 at Brands Hatch (Indy), where teams will be given an extra day of testing to prepare for the Bank Holiday races on the Monday.

From there, the calendar will take in Oulton Park, Donington Park, Thruxton, Snetterton, Knockhill, Mallory Park, Brands Hatch GP, Cadwell Park, Croft, Silverstone and again at Oulton Park.
