Leon Haslam is focusing on maintaining his impressive record of winning at least one race every time he’s competed at Cadwell Park in the MCE British Superbike championship as he prepares to fly the flag alone for JG Speedfit Kawasaki.

The former World Superbike star is without team-mate Luke Mossey in the JG Speedfit Kawasaki garage who is still recovering from a fractured vertebrae sustained in a nasty FP3 crash at Thruxton two weeks ago and has been ruled out of the Cadwell Park round.

Haslam, who feels he’s completely recovered from his own fractured vertebrae sustained at Knockhill in June, is solely targeting wins to reignite his BSB title charge ahead of the Showdown which takes effect in two rounds time.

“Cadwell Park is one of my favourite circuits and I’ve managed to hold the lap record there for over 10 years which is always nice,” Haslam said. “One of my personal records is that I’ve won there every year I’ve raced so I’d love to keep that roll going this weekend.

“I feel I’ve finally recovered from the injuries I sustained at Knockhill and we’ve got to look ahead now to the Showdown. We need to get back to winning ways and there’s no better place than to do it than at Cadwell; the atmosphere is always fantastic and hopefully the JG Speedfit Kawasaki team can have a good weekend and come out on top.”

Haslam sits second in the BSB riders' championship, 19 points off of Shane Byrne, as he aims to reduce the Podium Points deficit on the Be Wiser Ducati rider - Haslam currently has 21 points to Byrne's 30 points.
