Josh Brookes has topped the final free practice session ahead of the Silverstone triple-header on a drying circuit which saw times tumble throughout FP3.

The Anvil Hire Yamaha rider timed his late flying lap to perfection to steal the fastest time from James Ellison (McAMS Yamaha) with a 2m 06.160s – within one second of the outright lap record set by Ellison in 2015 – as the Silverstone circuit dried up throughout FP3 after the heavy Friday rain showers effectively wrote off yesterday’s sessions.

The late laps also saw Jake Dixon go second on the RAF Reserves Kawasaki with Peter Hickman third ahead of Ellison to ramp up the fight for the MCE British Superbike Showdown spots as all four riders are mathematically in the hunt for a top six place.
