MCE British Superbike Showdown contenders Jake Dixon and Josh Brookes have both dipped under the lap record at Oulton Park in the final free practice session as the RAF Reserves Kawasaki rider tops the times.

After FP3 began on a drying Cheshire track the times duly tumbled when riders put fresh Pirelli tyres on for the final 10-minute blast with conditions at their best. Dixon set the standard with a 1m 34.218s to edge Brookes by just over a quarter of a second as the pair stole a march on their fellow top six title rivals.

With Christian Iddon third for Tyco BMW, title contender Leon Haslam had to settle for fourth for JG Speedfit Kawasaki ahead of Be Wiser Ducati duo Glenn Irwin and Shane Byrne.
