Kyle Ryde will make his MCE British Superbike championship debut this weekend at the Brands Hatch season finale as stand-in rider at the Quattro Plant FS-3 Kawasaki squad for the injured Billy McConnell.

Ryde recently left Puccetti Kawasaki in World Supersport after a disappointing campaign despite two rounds remaining and returns to the national racing scene having starred in the British Supersport by finishing runner-up in 2015 after winning the Pirelli National Superstock 600 series in 2014.

The British rider is relishing his debut on Superbike machinery and is hoping for a fresh start after a tricky World Supersport campaign.

“I am so happy that the Quattro Plant FS-3 Kawasaki team have given me this opportunity at Brands Hatch because opportunities like this don’t come about too often,” Ryde said. “I'm really looking forward to a new chapter and a new beast which the superbike is.

“I have never ridden one before but I'm sure I can get to grips with it. Hopefully we can have some dry track time before the three big races with the fast lads of the UK. I will be trying my best with no expectations and go into the weekend ready to enjoy myself.”
