Pole for Hill at Oulton Park

Worx Crescent Suzuki's Tommy Hill pipped HM Plant Honda's Ryuichi Kiyonari to pole position at Oulton Park.
Worx Crescent Suzuki's Tommy Hill has taken pole position for the final round of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship at Oulton Park.

The Championship leader made his intentions clear all through qualifying by heading every session. During qualifying two he lapped in 1min 35.226secs setting the fastest time of the weekend so far and dipping under the lap record of 1min 35.436secs set by Ryuichi Kiyonari last year.

Kiyonari had to settle for second place on his HM Plant Honda as he didn't have the pace to out run the determined Suzuki rider. James Ellison lines up in third place on the front row of the grid aboard the Swan Honda. Ellison's Silverstone win proved he is back to full form following his nasty smash at Thruxton which left him with a broken femur.

Completing the front row of the grid is Michael Laverty on the Relentless Suzuki. Laverty is fourth in the Championship but is still hoping to overhaul the top three for the title. His team-mate Alastair Seeley qualified in 16th place and didn't manage to go through to the final qualifying session. He has struggled to find a suitable set-up for this weekend.

Gary Mason on the MSS Colchester Kawasaki heads row two with his best qualifying so far this year thanks to changes to his rear suspension which have given him more confidence. Stuart Easton on the second Swan Honda is sixth ahead of Michael Rutter on the Ridersmotorcycles.com Ducati.

Tommy Bridewell aboard the Quay Garage Tyco Racing Suzuki slots into eight place ahead of Championship contender Josh Brookes on the second HM Plant Honda. Completing the top ten was John Laverty on the Buildbase Kawasaki who crashed out unhurt at the start of qualifying three.
