John - your posts have been bl00dy brilliant!
Steve Jackson - this is exactly what's so galling about the so-callled premier domestic series in the world.
The people attending the racing are there to see THE RACING and generally couldn't give a stuff about the shootout - I feel dirty just mentioning it - no matter what some fiddled surveys at Oulton Park last season resulted in.
We pay good money to watch the racing, every single rider pays good money in entry fees, fuel, tyres, travel, spares, mechanics etc, yet there's no prize money and the only prize given out is the David Jeffries prize for young riders. I noticed quite a few regulars missing at Cadwell, after the final deadline for entry fees -1000 pounds for the remaining rounds so do the sums there when EVERY rider pays their fees a few times each season.
