So, the second BSB race has been cancelled due to the mix of oil and detergent turning the circuit into a skating rink. Many, myself included, were lamenting the loss of the last 2 strokes with the start of Moto3 on Sunday as the "ripping calico" sound of a well set up two stroke was replaced by the wet farts of the 250 four stroke singles. But another unfortunate consequences of the manufacturers' relentless determination to completely eliminate 2 strokes, even from prototype racing, is that, predictably, we've had a massive increase in the number of races cancelled thanks to the "diesels" spreading their slippery contents over the track. And how many people have been injured in incidents directly caused by leaking sump oil? Getting back on a crashed 4 stroke and rejoining a race without a proper check for oil leaks, endangers everyone's life and limb, just for the outside chance of a point.
