Gotta say there is a lot of sense to this rule and I'm not surprised there has been no resistance to speak of.
Yes, unfortunate for anyone taken down by another rider's error but that's the cut and thrust of 'racing'.
But its unfortunate for multiple accidents caused by a crash damaged bike leaking fluids (often unseen and beyond the riders abilities to respond as quickly as another rider's racing error - ie its not 'racing') because that's lack of race meeting management.
