It's only guesswork, but I'd imagine Kuba hasn't been paid by Liberty for a long time, so he probably needs income in a hurry, and he's gone to where he thinks he can make some money. He has certainly not gone there to race for the Championship as the shootout contenders are already decided. However, he's an established WSBK rider, and I'd guess that the only reason he didn't stay there was because there wasn't a ride available at the time.
I'm sure he'll be back in WSBK next season - it will only take a couple of races with Splitlath for him to learn it is a dead-end job.
