Suppose the question is why? They had already stated they was going superbike racing! Are they expecting regulation changes and don't want to spend developing a superbike when regulations may come closer to superstock or supersport? Because going into superstock is risky, if it isn't a frontrunner they carnt blame on lack of development! The r1 is a perfect example, in superstock it simply isn't competitiv, but with more open rules and room for development it is.
