John Hopkins reinforced his status as the rider to beat at Oulton Park this weekend after setting the pace in a wet third free practice.

The American had been quickest in the dry during Friday's sessions and was once again fastest in FP3, Hopkins firing himself to the top in the final minute at the expense of Michael Laverty, the Swan Yamaha rider having been fastest for some time.

Josh Brookes was third on the Relentless Suzuki, ahead of Tommy Hill and Michael Rutter, while Ryuichi Kiyonari and Shane Byrne recovered to sixth and seventh, despite crashing early in the session.

Indeed, the HM Plant Honda duo were just two of a few riders to take a tumble in the early minutes of the slippery session, with James Ellison, Martin Jessopp and Karl Harris all suffering a similar fate, the latter two riders subsequently forced to sit on the sidelines for the remainder.

Chris Walker, Peter Hickman and James Ellison completed the top ten, while Glen Richards edged out Patric Muff for EVO honours in 15th overall.
