Martin Jessopp on the Riders Ducati has beaten Tom Grant to the number one placing during free practice two at Thruxton ahead of the second round of the Maxxis Supersport Championship.
Jessopp finished second at Brands Hatch but was disqualified due to a technical issue after the race when his bike refused to start during a compulsory inspection. He was the only rider to dip into the 1min 17s eclipsing the Virgin Media rider and relegating him to second place.
Running in third place was Relentless Suzuki's Michael Laverty and his team-mate Ian Lowry was fifth. Splitting the black Suzuki's was John Crockford on the Crescent Performance Suzuki.
Steven Neate who is back with Angel Racing was in a very healthy sixth place ahead of the second Virgin Media Yamaha rider, Billy McConnell. The first of the Padgetts Honda riders home was Dennis Hobbs in eighth with his team-mate and TT rider, John McGuinness thirteenth.
Jamie Robinson and Ian Hutchinson rounded out the top ten at the high speed track.
