BSS: Virgin still lead free practice.

Billy McConnell and Tom Grant stayed at the top of the time sheets for second free practice at Silverstone for round three of the Maxxis Superbike Championship.

The Virgin Media pair were never bettered through the entire session. Relentless Suzuki's Michael Laverty continued with his consistent runs finishing in third place ahead of his sparring partner Dennis Hobbs on the Padgetts Honda.

Ian Lowry on the second Relentless machine was running fifth with Martin Jessopp on the Riders Ducati in sixth. Former European Superstock rider Richard Cooper had another top ten finish running in seventh. Road racer Ian Hutchinson on the Bike Animal Honda took up eight place with Gary May and John McGuinness rounding out the top ten.
