Vaulkhard unsure on future plans

Harry Vaulkhard has admitted that he isn't sure what the future will hold after the announcement that he is to part company with Robertshaw Racing.

Vaulkhard made the move into the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship with the team this season, initially as part of a two-car team with Matt Allison before he was forced to give up his drive due to budgetary issues.

That left Vaulkhard to run alone for the remainder of the season at the wheel of his Chevrolet Lacetti with the team unable to find a replacement driver for the sister car.

However, Vaulkhard – whose father owns the Lacettis – and the team have now elected to go their separate ways and Vaulkhard admitted that he wasn't sure about his plans for 2009, with the current economic climate affecting the quest to find sponsorship.

"Unfortunately, we're selling the cars," he told Crash.net, "and I'm not sure of what I may or not be doing next season.

"I am talking to a few big companies at the moment, but the credit crunch isn't making it easy to bring in sponsorship because people aren't keen on spending too much money.

"However, I'll keep working on things and fingers crossed, because I really want to be back in the BTCC next year."
