Its a shame to see them go, whatever people think of the TDI's they were a welcome manufacturer on the grid and they did add an interesting extra factor into the races.

The loss of any of the larger teams from the BTCC is a shame, however we are lucky we have some fantastic non-manufacturer teams like WSR, GR Asia, M-Sport and Halfords who more than make up for the lack of manufacturers.

I wonder what Jason will do for next year, as if he wants to remain in the BTCC I take it he will have to go to an independent team, or see if he is offered a place in WTCC.

Not a big fan of the diesal on race circuits, but sad to see Seat leaving, lets hope Ford, BMW or others fill the void.
After the halycon days of the eighties and nineties, it then drifting into obscurity, recent years has seen a resurgance, with good tv coverage and larger crowds, but Alan Gow and friends need to get there heads together over the winter break to keep this resurgance going.

If Seat cannot win the championship when everything is stacked in their favour, then they are wasting their time anyway. However, BTCC needs works teams, lets hope that others will fill the void left by Seat. If Seat do want to take their cars somewhere else to race, may I suggest Santa Pod, it would suit their car down to the ground. Ta Ra Plato :p

Have Seat got wind of a rule change, that we don't know about, outlawing Diesels. Hopefully!

Is this just sour gapes from Seat? Can't win the championship with a faster car so they throw the dummy out of the pram in the hope that BTCC will change the rules in their favour. Come on Ford, BMW, Volvo and the likes, maybe its time for a come back.

hello to everybody. i recommend every one here to read international news and you would find out that seat is about to close down a whole night shift of production because they cannot sell their cars in the world. There are about 20.000 brand new seats parked in Martorell, which is where they are build - and nobody wants them. seat design centre, made and paid for by VW has been closed down a few years ago already - showing the faith of the german concern in the brand. seat always has been an also run.. and vw´s takeover was about getting the right to the whole network of dealerships in spain, which would have cost VW-Audi such a wagg of cash that it was cheaper to buy seat

on top of that, the spanish where stubborn enough to keep an old and out of date data base system for stock management and production, which didnt link at all to VW groups all shining S.A.P. it was a constant fight. the seat management is part of the local politics mafia and try to keep everything for themselfs - in fact, its influence is such that volkswagen spain is run by seat!!!!! imagen that!!! as times are now, you have skoda parts in your audis and VW´s... and it used to be the opposit at the beginning.... VW has lost widely in the whole european carmarked and they had massive problems with the new passat, touareg cardans and the eos glass roof. customer service is now run from india.

The Holiday Inn accommodation deal that SEAT had in return for them having Holiay Inn logos on the car could be quite a nice agreement for someone like Team Aircool or Team RAC or Motorbase to have for next year if Holiday Inn are still interested - there are some interesting bits that could come out of this, not only what happens to the drivers and what happens to Northern-South

Hmm I think it is a case of quitting while they are ahead they have got nothing to prove anymore winning with petrol and diesel but I reckon there the element of financial strain withing the VAG Group so they can concentrate on Audi's DTM and Sportscar programmes. Although the savings will not be much but it will other cutbacks that the group are making though.
