Its a shame to see them go, whatever people think of the TDI's they were a welcome manufacturer on the grid and they did add an interesting extra factor into the races.

The loss of any of the larger teams from the BTCC is a shame, however we are lucky we have some fantastic non-manufacturer teams like WSR, GR Asia, M-Sport and Halfords who more than make up for the lack of manufacturers.

I wonder what Jason will do for next year, as if he wants to remain in the BTCC I take it he will have to go to an independent team, or see if he is offered a place in WTCC.

It is a big loss, but as someone has mentioned, not that surprising given they're really struggling to shift cars at the moment. It's not great for the BTCC, but they're sticking with WTCC - this is probably just streamlining. Doubt it has anything to do with diesel, sour grapes etc etc. It wouldn't make sense - Vauxhall could have problems soon because of their choice of car - the Insignia will not race because it is huuuuuuuge.

Having said that, it is going to be dull if it is just Vauxhall there. Say what you like about SEAT, they brought innovation, colour and competition to the series. Few will want to see Vauxhall walk over the competition like I fear they will now.

"the btcc will always be one of the worlds best tin top series with or without seat"

Not if it reverts to a championship where the only manufacturer backed entries are vauxhalls, it will just be like it was at the start of the decade, boring predictable results. Lets hope this doesn't have too big an effect on the future of the championship.

As for tin tops....looks like the best is the DTM from here on in.

Firstly lets clear a few things up for the small minded not so clever individuals on here...

Is it financial... No

Seat are far from struggling with sales or with anything else for that matter with the launch of new models every 6 months in the very near future and working close with audi, seat will soon be setting new standards.

Is it a problem for btcc? yes and no, its not the end but competetion between the seat team and vauxhall made previous seasons worth watching and quite simply good entertainment.

As for other silly comments(you know who you are stupid people)
think before you speak let alone type... DONUTS!

Plato= Top gear stig :D only joking :p
