Well done Colin - thoroughly deserved, and Plato drove a great three races to keep himself in the hunt until the end.

But, Matt Nealv - Yeah, I know it's team orders, but the guy has previous form for title-deciding antics. He spoiled the race, but in the end, the right man won. If Giovanardi had have won because of Neal's f**king about, it wouldn't have been the first time... the guy's a pain.

BTCC » Triple for Plato, title for Turkington

Jason Plato becomes only the second man to win all three BTCC races on a single day, but he can't stop Colin Turkington from securing the 2009 title at Brands Hatch

What an amazing climax to 2009 and an amazing race! Well done to Colin!!!

NO ONE deserved the title more than him - Always a clean racer with no backing up, punting or shoving required to win the title!

Alex: I meant no tactical controlling of the race pace by "backing up". Not an attack on Jelley. :) :)

Thoroughly deserved title for Turkington despite the dodgy VXR tactics!

Well done to Colin and everyone at WSR/RAC. I know they are well funded - but to beat a works team like Vauxhall, the Vectra and one of the best touring car drivers in the world is a brilliant achievement with probably less than 1/3 of the budget. WSR have been a class act all year, its a shame Vauxhall's last race is going to be remembered for Neal's terrible driving and not so much for their achivements this year.

Th best guy and team won.

Well done to Colin, a well deserved end to a wonderful season!

What was amazing was to hear the gasps of the crowd at moments in that race - the first time I have heard the crowd so much in 10 years!

You couldn't write a better conclusion to the season! Congrats to Colin and the whole team - truly deserved. Completely agree about Matt Neal's dirty tactics - would have soured it if Gio had won.
