Repeating the same programme once more isn't that big an improvement, especially as the ITV1 highlights have been pushed back. What about those people who live in non-Freeview areas and can't afford Sky? It's great coverage and presents the series in a good light (aside from the commentary bordering on goading the drivers into collisions at times), but let's not pretend it's stepping up for 2010.

While it's good news, remember it's only a National Championship.
Why couldn't they take the WRC off Dave, what about coverage of LMS/Le Mans..??? They after all are superior International series.

I just hope there are enough entrants to make the BTCC championship worth watching!
Great to watch the support races though they are usually very entertaining.

Shame they messed up so much with F1...

Although you can't really expand on coverage that shows a full days racing over 6 and a half hours. Always thought it's a bonus for the support drivers and airtime for their sponsors.

Did John actually mention WTCC?

You're right about WTCC of course, but all that airtime could have been used to show more, different series, instead of 3 repeats of a highlight show.

I think this is a positive step for BTCC, at present not many people know much about the Championship, and if they have hightlights throughout the week and on Men and Motors they are opening up the chances of people just stumbling upon the racing and then getting hooked like the rest of us.

My husband will not be happy, as he gets annoyed when i take over the TV for the whole afternoon, but at least he has the dates now to find alternative things to do LOL
