The joke that is the BTCC writes another punch line... an 18 year nobody can secure a drive (albeit for just one race) but last years overall champion can't get anything in the BTCC?... and can't attract enough sponsorship to buy a drive?

If this was F1 or GP2 or even Indycars I could forgive paid drives... but a national touring car series??? with just 22 cars???... run to a set of rules deliberately designed to keep costs down and racing close??

@Just Observing

Spot on, with the lack of serious manufacturer involement paid drives will be more and more common in this joke of a touring car series.

I stopped watching it this year for the reasons mentioned we mentioned.

And no need for name calling, it's a free country (apparently), we're quite entitled to our opinion, if you don't like it then hit the disagree button rather than desending to name calling on your 1st post on the thread :rolleyes:

Why are we dismissing this guy so quickly? Ok so he is pretty young and has the drive down to the TNT sponsorship he brings to the team. Yes its wrong that a multiple european champion has been unable to secure the sponsorship to drive the car when he clearly has the ability to win races in the car.

The series isn't a joke, ok mabey a decade ago when the grid was made up almost entirely of Astras and 406s it could have been considered "a joke" but its getting back on its feet, admittedly all bar 4 of the cars are now independant but thats just a sign of the times, it doesnt mean the series is any less worthy of being considered one of the best in the world

I agree with trebor if ya dont like it dont watch it! Simples! People keep comparing this series to F1 and WTCC why? u cant go to every round of either of those so cheaply can you? As for Colin Turkington not getting a drive, if he spent a bit more time in the country he might just be able to get a sponsor get a drive! At the Autosport show in January most of the big names were there ie Adam Jones, Mat Jackson, Matt Hamilton, Matt Neal, Harry Vaulkhard, Rob Collard, Gordon Shedden, Andrew Jordan, Jason Plato, Stephen Jelley and even Liam McMillan, all promoting themselves! No sign of Turks!!!!! For whatever reason he aint there so deal with it!
