Much as I really dislike Plato, his drive to 6th was brilliant in a car that looked like it'd been tap danced on.

Star of the race for me though was Tony Gilham. He was really unlucky to break his suspension on what was a fair pass on Andy (not very) Neate.

quite a bit of carnage. but i agree with your comments about plato. he even said that the rollcage was broken (????). but to drive a very suspect car competitively was certainly impressive. he was obiously quite shaken.
but a question. why on earth was there a grass bank with a 45 degree slope?? that was a sure way to get a car to flip. donington need to look at their banks again.

I dont know... I think its just one of those things that noone thinks of as a problem until it becomes a problem. Of course, it seems obvious now that someone has been washing machined by it!

Did anyone who went on the day find the noise of the turbo cars (esp. Hughes Toyota) absolutely repulsive? Way way too loud, and they sound awful! Loads of people made the same comment, a guy next to me described it best, saying its that bad you have to pull a face when they past by.. full field of 20 odd cars will make it difficult to watch.. shame, good weekend tho, well done Donington, looking good!! : )

You have a point. High pitched screaming engines are fine but they were a bit spiritless. And I think Donington has a low-ish decibel limit, too. Can you imagine an F1 1.6 turbo? That concerns me!

Ah well, just wait till you hear (or don't) the cars if they go to hybrid motors later on!
