Come off it some you. Putting a turbo on an engine is pretty much the same as using a bigger engine. A turbo charged 2.0 litre with 0.5 bar boost can burn as much air/fuel mixture as a naturally aspirated (NA) 3.0 litre.

Also using a turbo in 2011 is not a technological gamble, turbos got sorted out a couple of decades ago. Are you suggesting that introducing 3.0 litre cars with the 2.0 cars would have made for a race?

As for the regulation changes, allowing turboed engines with the non-turboed engines has made for a lot of regulation changes but the NGTC spec cars are coming in to make it less expensive to race a BTCC car. Changing over takes time. It is possible to fiddle with the power to weight ratios (the primary factor for how fast a car is) by adding/removing weight and changing the boost pressure. The goal was a ensure parity so that the differnt type cars could race and that was made clear last year.

I understand that Brands is a tight circuit while Silverstone is a power circuit BUT When turbo cars have led from start to finish at so called "power circuits" they are pegged back yet when a non turbo runs away with the win at a twisty circuit it's all OK. That is the bit I am finding hard to understand. I am also seriously bored with Mr Plato whining whether he wins or loses. It has really spoiled the whole season. He has to learn he can't have the best car every single year.

What is it that you don't understand about Brands being a twisty track & Silverstone being a power track? I'll file it with all the other things you people don't understand.

I love BTCC but fed up of all the rule changes this year. Sorry Mr Gow but it is fast becoming a massive fix for the driver that whines the most on live TV. Yes - parity was promised BUT one top team did nothing to develop their car then expects all the top cars to be pegged back. Parity has swung the other way as far as I can see. Mr PLato disappeared into distance with success ballast while the Hondas (the cars he was supposedly equal to) struggled with the extra weight - plus the added weight for being a turbo. That is NOT parity. I am also fed up of the ever smug Plato who still complains even after winning 2 races that he won't stand a chance at Silverstone. Feel sorry for all the teams who have put lots of dosh into developing their cars only to see it lost because of one drivers whinging. Respect for Collard who has not once complained in public.

Fagin I like your attitude but lets face in the prince of whinging Mr plato started after the last race about how he has not got a chance at Silverstone. I expect the Hondas to be further handicapped as I am sure Gow will re-work the rules again as they won too easily. The only surprising thing is that they are allowed to keep four wheels on there cars. Platos smug expression on his smirking face after this weekends race wins says it all. he's got his own way and teh BTCC is now the Plato touring car championship as he seems to make the rules up

Good drive by the hondas, but plato will get poll at next meet and then win have poll for race two win again plato takes the title. Its all totally wrong the hondas have been the best car all season threw hard work over winter & if that cry baby plato gets the title Mr Gow should hang his head in shame take the 20 kg off give the hondas back thew 0.1 bar there set lower than any other car and failing that put plato in the Kittie litter ye he will complain so whats new
