Hmm, no longer get the fascination with the BTCC - Last weeks Bathurst race proved what a dead-duck series the BTCC is. 10-15 years ago it was fantastic.

A poor driver in a poor series....

Priaulx was lucky, and got out and on to better things....

Also gutted for Shedden.

Disagree about quality. BTCC is a great series, only spoiled this year by Jason Plato and his parity issues.

Saying that Alan Gow brought these problems on himself with a transition period.

I agree - gutted for Flash. Really wanted him to win BUT the silly comments about "daddys team" rear up again. If there were team orders then Flash would have been told to move over in race 2 today and also on the many occassions where he led from Matt earlier in the season. All I saw this season was drivers within the same team racing each other (Oulton Park springs to mind for all the wrong reasons!) As the cars are all scutinized after the race I am sure it would have been picked up if Gordons car was running short.
Congratulations to Matt on his 3rd title.

The right team won in the end. The Hondas were the class of the field this year.

Also I think its a mention that Frank Wrathall in the Avensis raced with the best towards the end of the season and that bodes well for next season.

Alan Gow just has to sort out Plato and his constant whinging about parity and next season could be a cracker.

Looking forward to seeing the new Insignia running.

whitew. yes, when plato is beaten by the hondas, he moans about disparity. when he trounces the hondas, there is not a peep from him!
but to give him credit, gow has juggled with three different formulas, and he has done a good job. it is said that the cheys will be going turbo next year, but what happens if the ngtcs beat them? more moaning?

If the Chevy does go turbo, which will whine the loudest... car or driver?

Give him his due though, when the chips are down you can always expect a stellar performance from Plato - he always gives above the odds.

But this article is about Matt Neal. Cant say I like the bloke much for his antics throughout the years (I think he and Plato are level pegging on those terms), but congratulations on him for winning the title.

Loved Steve Neals comment about "Schoolboy setups" following Jason Whingers comment from Brands!
If Plato stopped moaning about everything and treated the public and TV audience with more respect he may do himself a favour. However, he has turned in to a P.R. disaster during the course of this season. For a man in his position, I would expect a more mature approach.
Lets hope he reflects on that, as you cannot fault his talent, "Time will tell"!
