at least they were competitive (pre ngtc/turbo engines) with the current lack of factory teams while the racing is close and enjoyable its not like the long term future of the btcc is looking all that rosey where once there were factory teams like Volvo, Vauxhall, Ford, Audi, BMW now we have Honda versus MG and team bamboo with a smattering of fords, BMW's and the ever popular ancient Vectra

if the racing suffers the BTCC will be on its ****

I don't think the BTCC has the marketing appeal to manufacturers it once had.

Factor in Alan Gow's manipulative ways and you have a problem.
