Q&A - Gordon Shedden, Team Dynamics

Gordon Shedden will hope to put the bad luck of 2008 behind him after being confirmed with Team Dynamics for the new HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship season.

Shedden will line-up alongside Dave Pinkney for the Honda team and said the sky could the limit for Steve Neal's team…

Crash.net:
Back with Dynamics for another year Gordon and a deal confirmed quite late. How does it feel to be back?

Gordon Shedden:
It's mega. It's been such a tough winter and of course there has been a big change at Dynamics with the deal with Halfords coming an end. That was a really successful five years or so as Team Halfords and it's the end of an era in a way. The guys have been working really hard to try and piece together a deal to get me out there and there has been a real desire to get back to winning ways. Its great to be back in the car and hopefully we can repay them with some really strong results.

Crash.net:
Looks different with the colourscheme and some changes under the skin of the car as well. How have you found it?

Gordon Shedden:
It's a winter of evolution really. Everyone at Dynamics has been going about their work quietly but surely and we knew what we wanted to do with the car about half way through last year to improve the car, its just difficult to do things when you are racing every other weekend as you can't do a radical rethink. We've come up with something which will hope will put us in good stead for the season ahead. The car isn't orange anymore, it's now a mean black and if there is a prize for the most intimidating car, then I think I win so far!

Crash.net:
How've you found the car compared to last year?

Gordon Shedden:
It's been good. I've gone as quick today as I did in qualifying last year and we are running heavier now than we were doing then. There is more to come and I'm sure the pace will have increased in the field this year and we'll be the same.

Crash.net:
What kind of aims do you have this year?

Gordon Shedden:
The sky is the limit really. We all have no points at the moment so we have as good a chance as anyone else. It will be hard to beat the works Vauxhall's and all the BMWs that there are on the grid and it will be tough but we were in with a shout last year and have been working hard over the winter to improve the car.

Crash.net:
You can go for the Independent title this year – is that a big aim?

Gordon Shedden:
We want to win everything we can and as a team there is also the new constructors' championship which is important for the future of the touring cars and we are back into the Independents' as well. To be fair, we have always been an Independent team but just one that has been well-funded. It's good to get the recognition to go back into the Independents' and of course, don't forget Matt [Neal] was an Independent when he won both of his titles.
