Fabrizio Giovanardi – Q&A

Fabrizio Giovanardi went into the BTCC finale looking to secure a third straight title, but was forced to settle for third place after a dramatic day of racing at Brands Hatch.

Crash.net caught up with the Italian to get his thoughts...

Crash.net:
You've ended up with third this season Fabrizio. How do you feel?

Fabrizio Giovanardi:
For a couple of laps in the last race, I was really close to fighting for the third title, but Colin and Jason drove really well. I feel good as I tried my best but they tried their best and only one of the three could win.

Crash.net:
How tough has this season been?

Fabrizio Giovanardi:
We didn't expect the Chevrolet to come in and it was a surprise to us. The BMW did a good job and they produced a reliable car and made no mistakes. They had some luck but you need luck in this series, so good for them.

Crash.net:
How does Colin compare to other champions you have raced against?

Fabrizio Giovanardi:
I think he has grown up. He is more mature and he didn't make the mistakes he made in the past. It is good for the future for him.

Crash.net:
The end of an era for Vauxhall today. You must have some good memories of your time with the team?

Fabrizio Giovanardi:
I have too many memories to tell you. I can just tell you that this wasn't just a team to work with. They were a family, there was no fighting in the team or anything.

Crash.net:
What does the future hold now for you?

Fabrizio Giovanardi:
Easy answer – I don't know!

Crash.net:
So a lot of talking to do with people…

Fabrizio Giovanardi:
Yes because I really don't know!
