Having emerged as one of the form drivers in the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship in recent meetings, Colin Turkington will hope to keep his overall title hopes alive as the series heads to Knockhill this weekend.
The current Independents' points leader heads to Scotland on the back of a run of six podium finishes in the last twelve races, and he now lies third overall in the points standings – 48 points behind defending champion Fabrizio Giovanardi.
With only nine races remaining, the Italian remains the hot favourite to defend his crown but Turkington insists that he hasn't given up hope of catching the Vauxhall man heading to a circuit where he took a brace of podium finishes last year at the wheel of his Team RAC BMW.
"Both Team RAC and myself are in a fantastic run of form at the moment," he said. "It's crucial for me to keep the pressure on Giovanardi as things can change so quickly over a weekend of racing!
"I cannot explain why I have had good results at Knockhill in the recent past. But there is no reason why we cannot go there and perform well as a team yet again. Success breeds confidence, and the whole team are now expecting to do well at these meetings.
"It is an upbeat camp at the moment."
