Shedden targets home victory.

Gordon Shedden will be chasing a second home win in as many years as the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship heads to Knockhill for the eighth round of the year this weekend.

The Team Halfords man secured a popular home win in the final race of the weekend last season and makes the short trip to Knockhill this time around on the back of his second win of the 2008 campaign last time out at Oulton Park.

With team-mate Tom Chilton facing an uphill challenge on race day due to a grid penalty put in place for his part in an accident with Steven Kane at Oulton, Shedden will be expected to fly the flag for the Honda team at the challenging Scottish circuit and he admitted he couldn't wait to hit the track on home soil.

"I race for Team Halfords but I'm also on the management team at Knockhill making this race one of my favourites of the year," he said. "Winning here is really important to me in a whole lot of ways.

"I know the track like the back of my hand and coming off the back of a major result at Oulton Park in the last round I'm fired up and ready to go.

"It's huge for Scotland to host an event like this and we had the Superbikes here just one week ago too which was an outstanding bike race meet."
