Michael Doyle will hope to put on a good show for his home fans at Knockhill as the Scottish circuit plays host to the eighth round of the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship season this weekend.

The InTune Racing man has rebounded from a tough start to the year to produce some encouraging performances in recent meetings, with the small team based near Loch Lomond aiming to add to the solitary top ten finish secured at Croft earlier in the year.

Doyle will also seek to move up the Independents' championship on home soil and will be hoping for extra support to push him on over the course of the weekend.

"I can't wait for Knockhill, it's probably the biggest race of the season for us," he said. "To compete in front of the home support, friends and family is something really special. I can't wait and neither can the rest of the team - even the English members of the team are buzzing!

"In my first year in the BTCC and as an Independent team, I'm racing a five-year old car and of course have limited resources available compared to the much bigger outfits. Despite that the team is running tenth in the independent team championship and I'm 13th in the independent driver's championship.

"We've been getting better and better all year and now we're getting some reliability too, we're starting to knock the tenths off my lap times. It'd be nice if it's dry at the weekend but we won't complain if it's wet. The team is giving me a good car I can drive and as long as we don't have any gremlins, I'm looking forward to some good results."
