Finale to support Help for Heroes.

Brands Hatch has announced that it will join forces with military charity Help the Heroes for the final rounds of the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship at Brands Hatch.

The charity, which is already backed by Team Halfords, will be collecting donations at the circuit during the course of the race weekend and will be selling the charity's wristbands. In addition, they will provide a packed programme of off-track entertainment to celebrate the final round of the season with highlights including performances from 'The Flying Gunners' Royal Artillery Motorcycle Display Team, a Battle of Britain memorial fly past, a tank display and demonstrations by the RAF Falcons and Red Devils parachute display teams.

More than 60 wounded soldiers from the tri-service rehabilitation centre at Headley Court in Surrey will also visit Brands Hatch having been invited by circuit owner Jonathan Palmer after he received a letter from Paul Bellman, whose son was seriously injured last year whilst on active service in Afghanistan.

“My son has been receiving treatment at Headley Court,” he said. “When I went to visit him it struck me how many wounded personnel are trying to rebuild their lives after being injured in a war zone.

“I'm very grateful that Brands Hatch is giving these extraordinary and deserving people a day to remember – and helping us to raise both money and awareness of our cause.”
