Jordans set to conclude historic season

John Guest Racing pairing Mike and Andrew Jordan will look to end the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship season on a high this weekend as the season draws to a close at Brands Hatch.

The pair have enjoyed a historic season so far as the first father and son team in the 50 year history of the BTCC – with Andrew in particular having impressed with podium finishes at Oulton Park and Knockhill at the wheel of his BTC-spec Honda Integra.

Mike meanwhile has yet to break through into the top three overall this year with his best finish to date being fourth in the season opener back at Brands at the start of the year, but Andrew said there was no reason why a podium for his father wouldn't be possible on Finals Day.

"He had a fourth place at the first meeting at Brands, which was great,” he said. “He's got mega race craft, so if he can get up there with a bit of luck in qualifying I'm sure the podium is possible.

"We've got exactly the same pace; it's just about being in the right place at the right time. The pace among the top 12 or 15 cars is so close, that it's very hard to do anything.”
