After an impressive debut season at the wheel of a Honda Integra, Andrew Jordan has his sights set on bigger things in 2009 after confirmation that he will drive a Vauxhall Vectra for his second year in the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship.

Jordan, who took outright podium finishes at Oulton Park and Knockhill en-route to sixth in the Independents' championship, will again be run by Team Eurotech with father Mike managing the car and with works Vauxhall outfit Triple Eight providing assistance.

"This is an unbelievable opportunity," Jordan said. "The chance to drive the best Super 2000 car in the BTCC is an awesome chance for me, and I certainly intend to make the absolute most out of it. I can't quite get over the fact that I've gone from Junior Rallycross to a Triple Eight built Vauxhall Vectra in five years.

"It is going to be a very big year for me and I want to do my best for everyone involved. It definitely gives me the chance to win races and my target for the year is to score a race win and really challenge for the Independents' Trophy."

VX Racing team boss and Triple Eight head Ian Harrison said he was delighted that Jordan had elected to move to the Vectra for 2009 and said his team would do all it could to aid the teenager in his title bid.

"It's great that a young upcoming driver like Andrew has decided on the Vauxhall Vectra for the next stage of his career," he said. "Triple Eight will be giving him as much assistance as we can within the framework of the Independents' Trophy regulations."
