Team RAC's second annual Charity Track Day has seen £15,000 raised for the leading male cancer charity Everyman.
Held at Rockingham shortly after BTCC Finals Day, Independents' title winner Colin Turkington and Stephen Jelley were tasked with captaining two teams through a range of driving activities, including off-roading, rally driving, single-seaters and a wet grip challenge.
Amongst the teams were a number of celebrities, including Emmerdale
actor Kelvin Fletcher, former Coronation Street
barmaid Lucy Evans, darts players Colin Lloyd and Mervyn King and the reigning Miss England, Laura Coleman.
Turkington's team came out on top by the slenderest of margins before the two drivers ended the day by presenting Melissa Morley, the corporate and special projects fundraising manager at Everyman, with a cheque for £15,000.
"We are delighted that RAC chose us as the dedicated charity for its Track Day event," she said. "We would like to thank all of the celebrities who took part in the event on behalf of the charity for giving up their time, which helped us raise vital funds to help the Everyman campaign."
The Charity Track Day followed on from a similar event last year, which raised funds for Cauldwell Children.
