Harry Vaulkhard admits he is delighted to have confirmed his place on the grid for the 2009 HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship after inking a deal with newcomers Tempus Sport.
Vaulkhard moved into the BTCC with Robertshaw Racing this season, but made an amicable split with the team last month – admitting afterwards that eh wasn't sure what the future would hold.
However, the second-year driver has now concluded a deal to line up on the grid with Tempus for the new campaign at the wheel of a 2008-spec Chevolet Lacetti – similar to the car he drove during his maiden year in the BTCC.
His team-mate will be named in due course.
"I think the odds were against me in 2008, but I'm confident that 2009 will be a far better season,” he said. “Although the Tempus Sport name is not well known, the personnel have a lot of experience and I can't wait to get behind the wheel of the new car.
“Having a deal put together so early in the day means I can focus on my racing and hit the ground running with an extensive test programme. If I get a run in the car before the end of the year it will be a perfect Christmas present."
