VX Racing has announced that Andrew Jordan will join Fabrizio Giovanardi and Matt Neal for the 2009 HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship.

In an announcement made on the opening day of the Autosport International show in Birmingham, the 19-year-old will move into the works team for his second year in the BTCC having impressed during his debut campaign at the wheel of a Honda Integra run by father Mike's Eurotech outfit.

“It's really exciting to be driving for Vauxhall,” he said. “I know it will be hard but I am excited by the challenge, especially considering the quality of my team-mates! Both Fabrizio and Matt have a huge amount of experience, so I will be asking quite a few questions. At 19, I know I still have a lot to learn.

“Although I am hoping for a couple of wins this year, I know how important it is to be a good team player, so the main goal will be to score as many points as possible for the team.”

Jordan's signing completes a strong line-up for the defending champions and VX Racing brand manager Stuart Harris said he was pleased to welcome the teenager into his line-up.

“We are delighted to have Andrew join the VX Racing family for 2009,” he said. “He has already demonstrated that he has the talent and potential to be a fantastic racing driver; he will really fit in with the team.

“VX Racing had a fantastic season last year, winning the drivers', teams' and manufacturers' championships; we want to continue this stream of success in 2009 and take home all three titles once again.”
