Cartridge World signs Jones

Cartridge World Carbon Zero Racing has confirmed the driver line-up for its maiden HiQ British Touring Car Championship season, with Adam Jones joining Dan Eaves.

Jones comes to the team, which will run a pair of bio-ethanol fuelled SEAT Leons in this year's series, having enjoyed considerable success driving a sole Team Air Cool SEAT for the last two seasons.

Despite his relative inexperience of touring cars, Jones has quickly established himself as a regular front runner, scoring a total of six podiums during the 2008 season, including four second places.

Side-stepping over to join Eaves at CVR, Jones is delighted to be returning to the BTCC grid, not least because this will be the first time he has had a team-mate.

"It's great to be driving for the team this coming season. They have been working flat out to get on the grid and I'm sure we will be very competitive and hit the ground running, I'm looking forward to having a team mate for the first time in the BTCC and I'm sure we will push each other throughout the season and surprise a few people along the way.”

An ambitious project to establish itself as the first 'zero carbon' BTCC team, CVR team boss Colin Neill is confident he has an accomplished driver line-up in former race winner Eaves and Jones.

"I am delighted that Adam has come on board and joined Cartridge World Carbon Zero Racing. Adam had a fantastic season last year and will be a real asset to the team. Adam and Dan are totally focused on the season ahead.

“Both drivers have set themselves some realistic goals in their first season together and where they want to be. The team are totally focused on the first round at Brands Hatch in April and are currently preparing the cars for our first test day.”

Cartridge World do not have the money to pay for one car let alone two! This money is coming directly out of Franchisees pockets, and they are for the most part broke, not a penny from the Corporate kitty. Start looking for new jobs boys...
