Arena reveals title sponsor

Arena Motorsport has revealed it will run under the Team Aon banner for its return to the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship this season.

Chicago-based Aon, a leading global provider of risk management services, insurance and reinsurance brokerage and human capital consulting will act as title sponsor for the Ford team, while its Focus STs will carry the distinctive Aon branding for the season ahead.

“It's great for Aon to step into the motorsports arena and work with such a top-tier team,” Phil Clement, global chief marketing and communications officer of Aon, said. “We look forward to the new and exciting opportunities this sponsorship will provide.”

Arena team boss Mike Earle was also pleased with the announcement of the new deal.

“We are very delighted to be associated with as prestigious a corporation as Aon,” he said. “They are an acknowledged leader in their field and we will strive to maintain the leadership of both companies in the championship.

“Aon is a great and exciting addition to the BTCC.”

The team is currently undergoing testing with the new Focus ahead of the 2009 campaign, where Tom Chilton will be partnered by an as-yet unknown team-mate as part of a two-car team.
