Double test continues Motorbase plans

Motorbase Performance has continued its preparations for the new HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship season following two days of testing over the course of the past week.

The team was on track on home soil on Wednesday at Brands Hatch before heading to Donington Park on Thursday, with Jonathan Adam getting his first proper run in the car since before Christmas having now been confirmed in a race seat for the year ahead.

Team-mate Rob Collard also spent time in the car ahead of the annual media day at Rockingham next week.

“We went to Brands Hatch on Wednesday and then Donington on Thursday and it went very well,” team boss David Bartrum said. “Donington was wet in the morning but then dried in the afternoon so we got change to run in both conditions. There were a few interruptions but we just adapted the programme.

“Jonathan had a run in the car at MIRA last Friday but Wednesday was his first proper run in the car since his test before Christmas and he just needs to spend time in the car, as time is running out before the season starts.

We'll get more mileage at the media day when we will make the announcement on our sponsors for this season and unveil the car, and then we have some more running before Brands Hatch to make sure both drivers are up to speed.”
