Dynamics aim high as line-up confirmed

Gordon Shedden and Dave Pinkney will aim to impress for Team Dynamics after being confirmed as the driver line-up for the Honda outfit for the 2009 HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship season.

Steve Neal's team will revert to its own name for the new season after the title sponsorship deal with Halfords came to an end, with the two Honda Civics set to run in a dramatic black livery for the year ahead, with Shedden debuting the new-look colour-scheme during the Rockingham media day.

For Shedden, it will be a third year with the team and the Scot said he was excited about the season ahead.

“It's mega,” he told Crash.net. “It's been such a tough winter and of course there has been a big change at Dynamics with the deal with Halfords coming an end. That was a really successful five years or so as Team Halfords and it's the end of an era in a way. The guys have been working really hard to try and piece together a deal to get me out there and there has been a real desire to get back to winning ways. Its great to be back in the car and hopefully we can repay them with some really strong results.

“We want to win everything we can and as a team there is also the new constructors' championship, which is important for the future of the touring cars, and we are back into the Independents' as well. To be fair, we have always been an Independent team but just one that has been well-funded. It's good to get the recognition to go back into the Independents' and of course, don't forget Matt [Neal] was an Independent when he won both of his titles.”

Pinkney meanwhile comes into the team having spent 2008 watching from the sidelines and the oldest driver on the grid said he was delighted to be onboard.

“I've known Steve for a lot of years and raced against Matt in loads of races,” he said. “I didn't race last year because the Alfa Romeo wasn't competitive as we all know, so I decided to take a year out and it gave me chance to talk to people. Steve invited me up to his office and we decided maybe even as far back as July that I could have a drive in the Dynamics car.

“I'm over the moon. It was all hush-hush at first, but now I'm here with a front-running car and it's awesome.”
