RML team boss Ray Mallock says he is looking forward to seeing Jason Plato and Mat Jackson line up in his outfit's Chevrolet Lacettis for the second round of the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship at Thruxton this weekend.

Jackson confirmed at the start of the week that he would make his return to the series in Hampshire at the wheel of a Lacetti, while Plato confirmed yesterday [Thursday] that his initial one-race deal for Brands Hatch has now been extended to a full-season deal running under the Racing Silverline banner.

It leaves two of the strongest drivers in recent years teamed together with the squad behind Chevrolet's World Touring Car Championship programme and Mallock said he was keen to see what the pair would achieve in the second rounds of the season.

"I'm really pleased to announce our continued partnership with Jason Plato and Racing Silverline," Mallock told BTCC.net. "As everyone will recall, we confirmed our entry into the championship very late in the season but, despite this, we enjoyed a fantastic result at Brands and now approach Thruxton with a very skilful and experienced pairing in Jason and Mat Jackson.

"The confidence shown by both Jason and Mat in racing with RML is of great reward to all involved and we look forward to watching our Lacettis fighting at the sharp end of the pack with two talented drivers

"Between them, Jason and Mat have scored a fantastic 54 race wins in this championship, so we'll be looking forward to some good results from this weekend and hopefully add to our first race win of the season."

Having seen Plato win on his debut with the Chevrolet at Brands Hatch, Jackson will hope for similar results this weekend to aid his quest to turn his own deal into one for the remainder of the 2009 campaign.
