Adam keen to get challenge back on track

HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship rookie Jonathan Adam admits he can't wait to return to action for the third round of the year at Donington as he seeks to put the memory of Thruxton firmly in the past.

The Airwaves BMW driver endured a tough weekend in Hampshire and failed to score in any of the three races at arguably the most challenging circuit on the calendar for the rear-wheel drive cars.

Heading to Donington, the double SEAT Cupra Championship title winner will look to try and return to the form that saw him secure a podium on his debut for the Motorbase-run team at Brands Hatch – with three points finishes from the weekend being the aim.

“I'm raring to go to Donington and do well so I can put the last round behind me,” he said. “I want to get back to a front-running pace and take three good results away from the weekend. I have always found Donington to be a challenging circuit, but I have had success there in the past in other championships.

“The layout of the track at Donington has always been exciting to drive, but I think it might feel a bit different with all the work that has been going on there. I don't think it has been raced on much recently so it will be interesting to see if that makes a difference to the grip levels available, as it has always been a bit slippery there anyway.

“It's still early in the season so if I can notch up some more good points scores now it will set me up nicely for later in the year when some of my favourite tracks come around.”
