Jordan left scratching head after race day

Andrew Jordan was left disappointed by the resumption of the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship season after the teenage managed to pick up just a single top-ten finish at Snetterton.

Jordan had qualified in fourth place and led the race early on after battling ahead of Jason Plato at the Esses. While he soon lost top spot to team-mate Fabrizio Giovanardi, Jordan looked well placed for a possible podium despite pressure from behind before he went off at the Esses and dropped back to twelfth.

Race two started badly for Jordan when he was tipped into a spin at Riches on the opening lap, which left him fighting to make up places as the race wore on – and again he could manage no higher than twelfth as he battled issues with his VX Racing Vectra.

The final race of the weekend finally saw Jordan break into the points as he took the flag in fifth place – becoming fourth after James Nash's exclusion – but he admitted there would need to be some investigations to find out there the pace shown in qualifying had disappeared to.

“The final race of the day produced our best result, although I still didn't have the ultimate pace at the start to go with the others,” he said. “In the second race we had overheating and engine problems and something wrong with the rear of the car, so we ended up having to sort those problems out for the third race.

“I'm looking forward to us getting the car back and having a good look at it, strip it down, as we didn't have the pace we had yesterday. I think maybe we lost our way a bit today after a disappointing first race, but it's been a bit frustrating. We won't look backwards now though, we'll focus on the next round.”
